U.S.S. Florida was a single-turreted monitor, one of the last monitors built for the U.S. Navy.

She was commissioned on 18 June, 1903 under Commander John C. Fremont. She was renamed U.S.S. Tallahassee on 1 July, 1908.

Service

In early 1916, Tallahassee was in Pensacola, Florida, accommodating crews of three "K" class submarines.[8]
