Captain Somerville Peregrine Brownlow Russell, R.N., Retired (10 July, 1883 – 1946) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Russell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1905.[1]

Russell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 April, 1913.

Great War

Russell was appointed in command of the destroyer Otter on the 7 November, 1914.[2]

Russell was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1917.

He was appointed in command of the destroyer Tintagel on 24 October, 1918.[3]

Post-War

On 29 April, 1919, Russell was appointed in command of the destroyer Venomous.[4]

Russell was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 1 January, 1923 and promoted to the rank of Captain on the Retired List upon reaching 45 years of age on 10 July, 1928.[5]
