Vice-Admiral SIR Henry Karslake Kitson, K.B.E., C.B. (22 June, 1877 – 19 February, 1952) was an officer of the Royal Navy during the First World War.

Life & Career

Kitson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 October, 1899.[1]

Kitson was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1911.[2]

Kitson was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1917.[3]

On 1 January 1919, he was appointed in command of the heavy cruiser Cornwall.[4] Kitson was next appointed in command of light cruiser Centaur in August.

In February 1923, he was appointed in command of the light cruiser Calcutta.

Kitson served as Captain of H.M.S. Vernon in 1924 and 1925.[5]

Kitson was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 7 April, 1928.[6]

Kitson was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 31 December, 1932 and was placed on the Retired List on New Year's Day under Order in Council of 4 February, 1927.[7]

World War II

Kitson was appointed to Forte as Flag Officer in Charge, Falmouth on 9 July, 1940. He was reverted to Retired Pay on 1 July, 1942.[8]
