Captain Alan Brodrick Thomas, C.B. (24 February, 1844 – 17 August, 1894) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Thomas was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 18 September, 1865.[1]

Thomas was promoted to the rank of Commander on 25 March, 1878.[2]

Thomas was promoted to the rank of Captain on 11 July, 1881.[3]

He was appointed in command of the second class battleship Trafalgar on 2 April, 1890.[4]

Thomas was granted one month's leave to return to England to shake off a fever on 7 September, 1891. He was invalided for diabetes on 27 January, 1892. He would not be found fit before June, but it was thought best to restrict him to Home stations.[5]
